Travel tip: Wash your clothes!

If you have access to a washer/dryer, it's a great idea to wash your clothes before you go home. Sure it may take an hour out of your time, but when you get home you'll be so very thankful at the fact that there will be no pile of clothes to be washed when all you want to do is bed crash.

Monday/Tuesday

I hate checking out of hotels. It's like saying goodbye to a second home. And the fact that you have to pack up all the crap that was accumulated for the time of the stay hahaha.

Said goodbye to San Diego with a last breakfast at the Broken Yolk. I love breakfast food, especially eggs. And cheese. And avocado. And bacon. 6 hour drive back? Psha, it's eggs!

Saddled up and drove back to Tuscan. Not so easy the second time around, but time went by pretty fast. My eyes got a little crossed looking at the endless road a few times, but we made it a-ok.

Once again, Venti Soy Vanilla Latte, you kept me up proper. Thanks for not screwing up my stomach.

Got back to Tuscon around 10 pm? Washed up, packed up, and sneaked in maybe 3 hours of sleep before getting up at 4 am to trek it to Phoenix for my flight.

Took off ok and was fed Belgian waffles w/ a white cheddar omelette. Thank goodness everyone in my section digested it fine. Ew.

Slept majority of the flight and deplaned to a face slap of humidity. Oh Hawaii, you know how to make a girl feel welcomed home.

Quite proud that I only came home with just a few extra things to pack, considering how stupid my wallet could of gotten at just IKEA alone. Thumbs up self control.

Got home, declothed, unpacked, and popped open a bag of pretzels for lunch.

Life.

Sunday

Since it was announced that Doctor Who's David Tennant was going to be at Comic Con, being the fangirl that I am, it was my event priority to make it to the panel. Rolled out of bed, got dressed, hustled to the Con, and found a crazy winding line for Ballroom 20. CRY.

Stood in the line regardless, worked on losing my indoor tan, and did a little dance of anticipation as the line moved up the stairs and around the building. Success! I could not BELIEVE we got in.

AHH the panel was FANTASTIC. David Tennant, OHMAHGOSH his Scottish accent, I swooned. His personality is just like the Doctor. BBC showed previews for his last two episodes as the Doctor and it just kicked up my excitement for the series even more. FANGIRL, I ARE.

Pumped up on high spirits from the panel, we explored the floor saying goodbye to the con and journeyed to Anaheim to meet up with some of Cece's friends at Disneyland.

I think if I lived near Disney, I'd get into pin collecting. Very neat.

Obligatory.

Muse's "Invincible" ran through my head during the Small World ride. Ahh Muse, I adore you.

Pretty moon, picture fail.

It was a great day just hanging out and being kids. Plus we had awesome tour guides (who were there since 5 in the morning, whoa). Vacation, you fly by too fast.

Saturday

Spent majority of the day at The Sharp Rees-Stealy Urgent Care w/ Erica to see if they would be able to prescribe something to help alleviate her cracked wisdom tooth. OUCH! The care unit staff was really nice. Great place to go should anything ever go wrong in downtown San Diego.

Got of there just a little too late for the Kevin Smith panel, so we decided to find some place to eat. Picked up Dean and found a little sushi place just outside of town.

Went back to our hotel wth intentions of heading back out for a drive-in Harry Potter experience, but everyone ended up crashing all over the room. I think the toll of not sleeping for the past few days finally caught up with us.

I ended up making a few calls downstairs to tie up some loose ends and tidied up the room a bit. I'm such a mom.

Tomorrow is Doctor Who panel (EXCITEDDDDDDDDD!) & Disneyland.

Friday

It was Tokidoki day. While I'm not so much into the brand as Cece & Erica are, it was interesting "people watching" while in line for the signing.

I was appropriately "Asian'ed out" with their cameras to take pics as they got their swag signed. Going back to my roots!

Passed John Barrowman on the way to the booth, I internally squealed. EEEEE Captain Jack!

Cece & Erica were thrilled with their signings & pic opportunity. The artist, Simone Legno, is really nice.

Explored the floor a little more and found a Darth Vadar worthy enough for a pic. She legit squealed haahaha.

Grabbed more Twilight swag for the co-workers. As much as I dog the books/movie, I have to admit that their promotion was out in force at Comic Con.

This sign made my day.

Went back to the hotel for a little food. Definitely saving a ton of money, thank you Ralph's.

Hit the streets for the night. These biker taxi's were definitely working for their money.

Hawaii is everywhere.

Meet up with some people, had to deal with some work stuff in between. It was kind of a pain, but it's paying for the trip so whatever.

Is it really only Friday?

Thursday

Yay free breakfast! So maybe there was Cheese-Wiz in between this egg omelet thing, it was free (and actually kind of good ...).

Finding out our hotel was only a 2 minute walk away from the trolley, we made sure to take advantage of the nifty find. Cece was Tokidoki'd OUT.

Ahh Comic Con, you suck me into your vortex so good.

Saw one of many Princess Leia's.

And a not so Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle perving on one of the many Princess Leia's. SUPPPP.

Grabbed a bunch of Twilight swag for the fangirls at work. Could not get into the Twilight panel, as the Hall H line was ridiculous. Kind of sad since the Alice in Wonderland panel was held earlier in the same hall. Apparently Johnny Depp was in attendance? SO HOT. Oh well, the Alice info probably hit the 'net two seconds after it was announced.

Not gonna lie, I'm excited for Zombieland!

Annnddd obligatory random pics of the day:

On the way to lunch we were approached by people preaching their word. Who will save my soul? Not you buddy, but thanks for the thoughts.

Back at the hotel I had time to finish up some things for work and a few to reflect on the phone call from home. How would you say goodbye if you knew you're in your last days? Who says we die, before we live? I promise you walls of grace to carry on. When we're lost, we'll find a way.

Pit Stop tip: Antibacterial wipes are your friend

Let's be honest, most middle of no-where pit stop bathrooms are gross. Packing anti-bacterial wipes just may be a little slice of heaven on long road trips. Sure you're not going to sit on that toilet seat, no matter what, but wiping it down before you even squat above that crusted seat cover (ew!) gives you just a little bit peace of mind to pee in bliss. Jus' sayin.

Travel Tip: Ask for a microwave/fridge for your room

If your room doesn't include a microwave/fridge in the amenities, don't be afraid to ask the front desk! Majority of the time the hotel has a few spare ones in the back. Taking a trip to the local supermarket and stocking up on some groceries for the length of your trip is a great way to save money. Sure it's awesome to eat out, but in these times, maybe it'd be great to spend that money on something more awesome ... like fun!
