SYTYCD
So You Think You Can Dance is one of the few shows I turn the TV on for. It seems the judges have a genuine appreciation for the talent the performers have. The fact that they remember individuals from previous auditions is pretty awesome.
Anyway, the show was playing in the background as I tried to finish up a few things for work last night. As the first few guitar cords floated out of the speakers, my ears perked to attention. I couldn't believe I was hearing Daphne Loves Derby, a band I rarely hear out of my iPod! The song Pollen & Salt to boot, a melody I'm ridiculously breathless over. While the song caught my attention, the kid maintained it. It's a shame he was only 17 at the time of audition. There are videos of his other performances on the 'net, Google/YouTube Nathan Trasoras. Dude. Def' someone to look forward to for next season.
Side note, hopefully Daphne Loves Derby gets awesome exposure as well. I adore their "On the Strength of All Convinced" album, and they've a couple of demos on Myspace that I melt over. Yay music!
